He also talks about a a 37 per cent crime reduction in the area in the last two years, a five years decrease in homicides and how a diverse community gets along pretty well.

With a force of two full-time policemen and two more working in a part-time basis, the town gets along pretty well.

Crime Issues

On Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 12:45 a.m., a victim was shot in the front of residence by unknown suspect for unknown reasons. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and released later that morning. The case is still under investigation by Prince Georges’ County Police Department Investigation Section along and our department.

Officer of the Year

Detective Maurice Lynch has been chosen as “Officer of the Year” for 2010 and will be recognized at the annual awards banquet of the Police Chief’s Association of Prince George’s County on April 7, 2011.

Please, cooperate with us and get your Maryland tags. Should you have any questions, please call us. Officers have been issuing citations for out of state plates within the last few months.
